25 numbers of WHEEL CHAIR distributed in collaboration with ASSAM STATE LEGAL SERVICES AUTHORITY on 30.06.2023

25 Wheelchair distribution Project of Rotary Club of Gauhati South was held in the premises of Guwahati High Court on 30th June. The Project has been done in collaboration with Assam State Legal Services Authority (ASLSA). The 25 recipients who were individuals with special abilities were identified by ASLSA from the economically disadvantaged sections of society residing in Kamrup Rural and Kamrup Metro Districts. The function was attended by all the Honb’le Judges of the Gauhati High Court, members of officials of ASLSA, advocates of Gauhati HC, the recipients and their guardians. The Under Secretary ASLSA welcomed the gathering and gave a brief introduction of the project. The Honb’le Judges of the Gauhati High Court were felicitated with Gamusas by the Rotarians. Thereafter the Honb’le Judges handed over the wheelchairs to the recipients. The happiness on the faces of the recipients when they sat on the wheelchairs was heartening. It was a moment of liberation for them as the wheelchairs which would greatly enhance their mobility and reduce their dependence on others. In the interaction that followed, the Honb’le Judges expressed their thanks to RCGS for sponsoring the 25 Wheelchairs and collaborating with ASLSA for this noble cause. Rotarians present at the function were President Rajesh Bhatra, Anurekha Borkakoti, Raj Kamal Bhuyan, Mahim Chandra Deka, Chandan Rajkhowa & Swapan Jyoti Sarma.
