Project Description:--:
Rotary Club of Gauhati South gave away the annual Archana and Atul Chandra Goswami Memorial Award to a visually impaired student during a function held on 2 June 2023. This award is given annually to a deserving and talented visually impaired student, between the ages of 14 and 18, to recognize the achievement of an exceptional individual who has overcome barriers to move forward. The award was instituted in 2014 and carries a prize of Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) and a citation. This year, the award was conferred on Md Shahid Afridi of the Guwahati Blind High School for his proficiency in Music. The Chief Guest at the function, which was largely attended, was Mr. Bikash Das, former AGM of the State Bank of India. who himself was a visually impaired person.
