He then painted a portrait of the on stage dancer within 2 minutes. The impressed audience suggested auctioning of the same painting and bids followed closing at a whopping Rs. 50,000/- by a philantrophist who donated the proceeds to the cause. This amount was thereafter deposited in the Rotary Welfare Trust account. The generous purchaser of the painting presented the same to Rtn Kaberi Bhuyan on whose signature the painting was made. The stage was set and a young boy aged 10 years Master Rudra Gaur a sare-ga-ma silver medalist performed and moved the audience with his soulful rendition of ’Maa', a popular song of Zubin Garg, followed by screening of a short documentary by Bhishan Rai titled ’Maa', which portrayed the moving story of a young girl suffering from Thalassaemia. The much awaited performance of Dr. Partha Mohan, who rendered ghazals of late Jagjit Singh in an identical manner, enthralling the audience. Mr. Priyanku Bora an extremely talented flautist, left the audience spellbound with his magical and flawless performance on the flute. Indeed, it was a superlative conclusion to the Cultural Symphony Nite. The President and members of Rotary Club focussed on the messages 'Give blood, save lives', 'Help families of Thalassaemia patients' and ' Know the what and why of Thalassaemia'. Overall, it was a successful and memorable evening that carried home a powerful message that we are all together in the community to act for it whenever and wherever help is required.
