Environmental Awareness: Rivers and Their Extinction

Project Overview:--: This project not only has enriched the knowledge about river beds and the reasons for the reducing water levels but has ignited to think how can we redo the harm that we have caused to the mother Earth.
Project Description:--:
On 26th September on International River’s Day, we had an environmental awareness programme on “Rivers and their extinction”. Our member PP Rtn. Malay Mukhopadhyay, a renowned Geography professor of Viswa Bharati University was the chief speaker. This was an informative session about how the rivers are partly or fully drying up and a very serious issue of reducing water bed on the earth due to increased usage of submersible water pump. Rtn. Malay shared his experiences of trekking through various river beds throughout India and also outside India. This was a very interesting talk and in future we hope to conduct this kind of talk and will make this accessible to more population.
