FLAG HOSTING

Our club along with Rotary Club of Guwahati and Rotary club of Guwahati South jointly participated in flag hosting as part of AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV on 14th august at 9 am at Rotary Point at Jhalukbari

The program was attended by Shri Devasish Sharma ( GMC COMMISIONER) as guest of honour and Shri Subhas Sikaria ( CMD- NEZONE Group) along with Directors of NHAI and many senior Rotarians of all three participants clubs
The national flag was hosted at 9 am followed by national anthem
Thereafter the dignitaries spoke about the relevance of 75th year of independence and the reasons to celebrate it in such a befitting manner
The highlight of the program was the presance of Wing Commander Umakanta Mahanta who was a war veteron of 1971 war and his wife gave a beautiful narrative of the action of that war and its historical importance

This was followed by partiotic songs sung by various groups like rotary south/ IFRM and of course Rotary Luit !
Our club performed four chorus songs and it was widely appreciated by all
