  • The LN4 Prosthetic Hand Camp, organized by the Rotary Club of Dimapur, was a testament to the power of collaboration and community service. The camp was conducted in partnership with the Rotary Club of Kohima, Rotary Club of Mokokchung, Rotary Club of Imphal, Rotary Club of Polocity Imphal, Rotary Club of Jorhat, Rotary Club of Golaghat, Akhil Bhartiya Marwari Mahila Sammelan Golaghat, and Dimapur District Rehabilitation Center. The executing partner, Rotary Club of Calcutta Presidency, played a crucial role in arranging and fitting the prosthetic hands.

    Registrations for the camp commenced in February, and a total of 52 beneficiaries were registered. The process aimed to identify individuals who would benefit from prosthetic hands and provide them with the necessary support and assistance.

    On June 3, 2023, the fitting of the prosthetic hands took place. Out of the 52 registered beneficiaries, 40 attended the camp, and 36 individuals were successfully fitted with the prosthetic hands.

    The project was graced by Shri T N Mannen, MLA and Advisor, Department of Land Revenue and Law & Justice, as the chief guest. Shri Sachin Jaiswal, Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur District, attended as the guest of honor. Their presence and presence of local media added prestige to the event and highlighted the significance of the LN4 Prosthetic Hand Camp.

    Rtn Sangita Jain, President of the Rotary Club of Calcutta Presidency and its members, deserve special recognition for leading the LN4 Prosthetic Hand Camp initiative in Eastern India. Their vision, determination, and effective leadership were instrumental in coordinating the efforts of all stakeholders and ensuring the successful implementation of the camp.

    Rtn Manish Jain, President of the Rotary Club of Dimapur, demonstrated exemplary leadership and dedication throughout the project, providing guidance and support.

    Rtn Prashant Agarwal, Secretary of the Rotary Club of Dimapur, played a vital role in coordinating the on-ground work of the camp.

    The camp was led by Rtn Dr Nitin Agarwal and Rtn Dr D R Sharma, serving as the chairpersons. Their outstanding leadership, unwavering dedication, and expertise in the field of prosthetics played a pivotal role in the camp's success.

    The logistical costs of the program were generously sponsored by Rtn Sanjay Kashliwal and Family. Their support enabled the camp to cover essential expenses, ensuring that the event could cater to a larger number of beneficiaries.

    The Rotary Club of Dimapur acknowledged the contributions of all project partners involved in finding beneficiaries and promoting the camp's cause. Their support and collaboration were crucial in reaching out to those in need and maximizing the camp's impact.

    The event witnessed active participation and volunteering from various groups. The members of the Rotary Club of Dimapur, students and teachers of Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School, as well as the staff of Jain Charitable Clinic Dimapur, dedicated their time and efforts to make the camp a resounding success. Their selfless service and commitment exemplified the spirit of volunteerism and community engagement.

    As a token of appreciation and respect, all beneficiaries, volunteers, and their family members were honored with a scarf. Additionally, participants were provided with an opportunity to practice daily activities, such as writing and eating, using their new prosthetic hands. Breakfast and lunch were provided to ensure their comfort and well-being throughout the camp.

    Conclusion:
    The LN4 Prosthetic Hand Camp, organized by the Rotary Club of Dimapur in collaboration with partner clubs and organizations, marked a significant milestone in providing assistance and support to individuals in need. The event showcased the power of collective effort, leadership, and community engagement. With the dedication of key individuals, generous contributions, and the involvement of numerous volunteers, the camp achieved its goal of fitting prosthetic hands for 36 beneficiaries.
