• 80 unprivileged females were given free treatment
  • Women comprise almost 50% of total Indian population. However if we compare the health status of these women to that of Indian men,we find that the fairer sex lags far behind. Therefore it is imperative that women’s health be prioritised. We,Rotary Club of Siliguri Medics acknowledge this sad state of affairs, and are always willing to serve our mothers and sisters at every opportunity. We recently conducted a free medical camp at Ambikanagar Shanti Sangha Club in Siliguri on 22.4.23 club President,Dr Sweta Agarwala and Club Editor Dr Smita Das Ghose treated approximately 80 patients. We also provided free medicines to all of these patients. The treated women were disadvantaged and mostly comprised of women who work as house helps in order to support their families. Some of them were the only breadwinners of their families. All in all it was a very fulfilling experience. We pray for health and happiness of everyone we served.
