Inauguration of Clean Drinking Water at Bhanu Bhakta Pro Nepali Secondary School.

CLEAN DRINKING WATER PROJECT AT BHANU BHAKTA PRO NEPALI SECONDARY SCHOOL, NONGMENSONG.
The inauguration programme of the Clean Drinking Water Project at Bhanu Bhakta Pro Nepali Secondary School, Nongmensong was held on 8th May 2023. The program was organised jointly by RCS and the School. Chief Guest on the occasion was Hon'ble Minister for Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, Shri A L Hek, Guest of Honour was Padmashree Shri Manas Chaudhuri, Former Education Minister, Govt of Meghalaya and Past District Governor RID 3240.
In this project, piped water is collected in the overhead tanks, which then flows down into the filtration units, following which water is collected in a drinking water tank. This clean water can then be accessed through five outlets, by the students. To ensure safety of the children, especially since it is a school, both the filtration units and the switches for powering on the filtration process have been enclosed in a box with lock and key facility.
It was a well organised, beautiful and meaningful programme. Children of the school presented a Welcome song, a Khukri dance and a Nepalese dance. Members of the Management Committee of the school were also present on the occasion. RCS was thanked profusely by all for doing this project in a school which though in existence for more than 60 years, still did not have provision of clean drinking water for the students.

Rotarians who attended the program included President RCS Rtn Deeya Rathore, Rtn Dr Santaram Joshi, Rtn Suresh Singh, Rtn Sarad Bawri, Rtn Shyam Singhania and Rtn Dr G P Terang.
