Installation of Interact Club of Rockvale Academy

The 16th installation of the Interact Club of Rockvale Academy was held on 17/5/24 at 1 pm in their school hall. It was a ceremonious occasion in which the Chief Guest was Capt Prakash Mani Pradhan, principal Rockvale Academy, the Guest of Honour was Rtn CA Sumit Jindal, President Rotary Club of Kalimpong and the Special Guest was Rtn M Agrawal, President Elect of Rotary Club of Kalimpong. The other guests present were the Secretary Elect of RC Kalimpong, Rtn Col K Sherpa, the New Gen Director Rtn Sheila Rai Fudong, the First Lady Ann Suruchi Jindal and the Interactors and Faculty Counsellors of the Interact Clubs of St. Augustine’s School, Dr Graham’s Homes and Vrindavan School and the Rotaractors and their Faculty Counsellor Ms Suchita Pradhan of Rockvale Management College.

The programme began with a welcome address given by Intr Swekriti Khawas. The dignitaries and incoming President Intr Nima Wangdi and incoming Secretary Intr Neeraj Chettri were escorted by the SA Intr Prena Tamang to the dais. Felicitations were done. The Faculty Counsellor of the Interact Club of RVA, Ms Priya Thapa, was also offered a Rotary khada.

The Sec. Intr Neeraj Chettri and Treasurer Intr Akrit Chettri then proceeded to give their detailed annual reports. Next, the President of RC Kalimpong installed the new Interact President Intr Nima Wangdi Yolmo who then gave his acceptance speech and also announced the members of his Board of Directors. Lapel pins were given to the 175 new Interactors after which the New Gen Director Rtn Sheila Rai Fudong administered the oath.

This was followed by the Guest of Hon, Rtn CA Sumit Jindal’s, Presd RC Kalimpong’s, speech. One of the points he mentioned was that the Interactors should wear their lapel pins with pride and live up to the motto of ‘Service above Self.’ They should also maintain punctuality, decorum and discipline. His speech was followed by that of the PE and the New Gen Director’s. They too spoke at length about the ideals and virtues of being an Interactor. Lastly, the Chief Guest, Capt Prakash Pradhan, Principal Rockvale Academy, gave a motivational speech where he cited numerous examples to the Interactors explaining how discipline and consistency were key in being successful.

The newly installed President Intr Nima Wangdi adjourned the programme for tea and snacks.
