We know plastic bags come at a very high cost to the environment and negatively affect human health. The Bangladesh government was the first to ban them in 2002. They imposed a total ban on light weight plastic bags in several cities globally. We Rotary Club, Siliguri, Uttorayan Believers, on this 3rd July, international plastic ban day spread awareness explaining the drawbacks of plastic. We distributed Rotary eco friendly and paper bags to fruits and vegetable vendors with our club name and rotary logo. We also gave them hygienic food stuff in paper bags to promote good living and keep environment safe and clean. this program was successfully done under the chairmanship of Rtn. Seema Prasad.
