Closeted within these perimeters is a land of snow clad mountains, verdant hills, expansive plains, mountain streams, majestic rivers, bustling towns, idyllic hamlets and miles and miles of land carpeted by lush green tea bushes.
R.I. District 3240 is a relatively new district formed in the Year 1990 and encompasses nine states of India – Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura and eight revenue districts of West Bengal.
(Barddhaman, Birbhum, Malda, Dakshin Dinajpur, Uttar Dinajpur, Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri & Cooch Bihar). There are 97 clubs in the district with 3342 Rotarians.

SUKHMINDER, completed his schooling & higher secondary from Burdwan Municipal High school in Bengali medium. He was admitted to Raj College in commerce stream for further studies. But the untimely passed away of his father forced him to join his family business of Spare parts.
He took the responsibility at his earlier stages to save his family, which he successfully overcome with his dedication & hard working.
SUKHMINDER, a Rotarian since 1998, joined RC Burdwan Greater as a charter member & became the President in the centennial year 2004-05. He served the club in all positions with great responsibility. He also served the District in various positions as District chair. Later he joined RC Amenity Bardhaman. SUKHMINDER visited several international Rotary club meetings & spoke about the activities of RID3240.
He is the first Major Donor Level 1 & 2 from zone 3. He is a Paul Harris society member & a great supporter of Polio Fund. He is also Multiple fellow plus of District 3240 fund. His entire family is Paul Harris Fellow.
SUKHMINDER, happily married to Sumita & are blessed with one son, Vishal, who lives in Edinburgh, Scotland & is happily married to Lynette, a Scottish girl.

SUKHMINDER, strongly believes that Leaders are not born, they are developed through proper orientation. And Rotary is the best organisation which develop leadership qualities.
SUKHMINDER is also actively involved with Rotary leadership institute, which develop the leadership quality to the next level. And he believes that RLI helped him a lot to get the opportunity to lead his District.
